ELIJAH SLOCUM, Inc., established in 1984, is believed to be the only American firm that limits its business to bespoke furniture crafted in England. Located in a rural village in East Anglia, our cabinet shop is staffed by Master craftsmen using traditional skills to produce bespoke goods. Continuing an age-old tradition, we apprentice new craftsmen to insure a continuation of skills. We are proud to carry on English cabinet-making practices that have been in existence for nearly 300 years. Each item is made individually for our client to their requirements. Every drawer is hand-dovetailed; every column is hand turned; every detail is hand carved; every surface hand planed. Whenever possible we utilize traditional time proven methods and materials, while not ignoring advances in technology when applicable and appropriate. |
