French Paper Mache’ Bath
Early in the 20th Century, paper mache’ became popular, often because of the cost of manufacture of daily use products.
These baths generally were used for babies (and feet!). For the past 50 years or so, this one has sat in a British home, holding magazines. Of a vibrant ochre color with hand painted strips accents, it is in good condition with minimal surface wear; the iron handles are tight and intact.
The bath stands to 6″ high and is approximately 13″ by 11″.
