Mirror Plateau with Convex Decoration

Date/Circa: 1890Origin: England Catalog No: A0629
Diameter: 12"

Mirrored plateaus were commonly used in dining rooms to raise the table’s decorative centerpiece to a place of prominence.  Additionally you could have found them on a lady’s vanity or dresser, displaying elegant perfume bottles or other treasures.

Today we also hang them on walls as decorative accent pieces and stand them on end on fireplace mantles as a background for prized candle holders or our treasures of today.

This circular plateau is decorated with edge reverse convex circles to multiply the effect of the light’s reflection.
