Liquor Cabinet on Barley Twist Base
Our original design, a studded leather cabinet on Jacobean barley twist legs, has taken many forms to meet differing needs. It has been crafted to house linens, televisions, computer work stations and drinks cabinets.
One of the most challenging was this drinks’ cabinet.
The size was increased, necessitating an extra set of legs. Instead of leather, the cabinet was built of figured timber with paneled doors of rare burr oak. When completed, the interior was lit, fitted with specified shelving (see client’s diagram) and glassware storage, and mirrored with antiqued mirror.
A slide was installed at the top of the base, covered with antiqued mirror to be used as a working counter for mixing drinks. The drawers were fitted for napkins and bartender tools.
When the doors were closed, the cabinet with its 6 barley twist hand-carved legs adorned the client’s living room, hiding a much-used drinks cabinet.
