Moulded Front Chest of Drawers
A copy of a early chest.
With a complex-designed, mitered moulded front, the chest consists of 3 drawers with solid brass drops, and rests on turned bun feet.
Oak was used for furniture only once European walnut became scare. Originally oak pieces were painted to hide the timber and the disappointment with having to use it, thus the original of this chest was painted. We sought to replicate that chest in its current colours, as shown in the image here.
